Masks in schools?
With Covid-19 finally beginning to slow down in some parts of the world and with children heading back to school in these areas the question posed, will children have to wear masks at school? An article written by Kathryn Sotnik featured on Channel 10 Boston News makes very important points about this issue. She reports that, “the Centre for Disease Control released the statement “masks aren't required, but should be taught and encouraged”, and that each school should be guided by what is feasible and practical to each community.”
With the increased usage of tech in schools it’s still important to know how to proper hold a pen as many people develop a habit of incorrect finger position. Minneapolis police department and it’s ties schools
Due to the recent rioting and uproar of crime and police targeted brutality in Minneapolis Minnesota, the school board director of Minneapolis proposes to terminate contract with the Minneapolis police department. In the CBS Minnesota article written by Jessica Worthington published on channel 4 WCCO-TV. The article describes the resolution written by Siad Ali, the Minneapolis board of education director. The resolution itself, defining how police presence is a big target in the ongoing riots and that for the overall safety of schools and children, ties and affiliations with the MPD should be cut for the time being.
Music while studying?
A study run by Oxford university in 2008 found that around 80% of students aged 12-18 listen to music while doing their studies. A lecturer in Psychology employed at the University of Wollongong, Timothy Byron explains the good and bad sides of listening to music while studying in an article published on theconversation.com. In the article he states how “music puts us in a better mood, which makes us better at studying – but it also distracts us, which makes us worse at studying.”. In a nutshell if you want to study effectively with music you need to listen to something that you don’t focus on but still improves your mood.
